RUTH, ALEX: Passed away peacefully in Palliative Care at the PHRC on December 8, 2018 at the age of 82. Beloved husband of Margaret (née Skuce), father to Laurie McLoughlin (Joe) and the late Ron (survived by Jennifer). Gramps to Michelle (Jamie), Alex (Marissa), Nicholas, Jeremy (Kaitlyn) the late Michael (1991). Predeceased by his parents Gordon, Ruth and brother Bob (survived by Gloria). Sadly missed by brother Erroll (Mary), loved by many nephews and nieces from the Ruth and Skuce families. And now to make a long story short! Alex treasured his family, neighbours, friends, community and his church families. Alex was a proud farmer and very proud to be married for 61 years. Alex had many interests from refereeing, umpiring, politics and Conservation Authority. Thank you to all the medical staff but especially Drs. Mallory and Gibson and all the nurses at Palliative Care. So much love to you all.
Memorial visitation will be held at St. Stephen's Presbyterian Church, 1140 St. Paul's Street, Peterborough on Monday, December 17th from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Church on Tuesday, December 18th at 11 a.m. Reception to Follow. A Private family interment will be held at St. John's Cemetery, Ida. In memory of Alex, a donation to Diabetes Canada or the St. Stephen's Presbyterian Church would be appreciated by the family. Members of the Corinthian Masonic Lodge 101, The Kawartha Shrine Club and visiting Brethen are asked to gather on Monday, December 17th at 4:00 pm for a 4:15 pm Masonic Service at the church.
