WARD; Annie Patricia ~ Peacefully, in the loving embrace of her children and daughter-in-law, at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre on Thursday, January 31st, 2019, Annie Ward (nee Farrell) at 78 years of age. Beloved wife of Arthur Ward. Dear mother of Rick (Elizabeth), Kevin (Jerry Taylor) and Kerin Valcourt (Chris); predeceased by infant daughter Elizabeth. Cherished grandmother of Andrew Ward, Matthew Ward and Gabrielle Marsh. Lifelong friend and supporter of Judy Geldart (nee McEntee). Predeceased by brothers William Farrell, Arthur Farrell, Ralph Farrell, Ronald Farrell, Gerald Farrell and infant brother Roland Farrell; sisters Dora Farrell (Boundy) and Rita Taylor (Bowles). Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories brothers Henry Farrell (Colleen) of Burgeo, Newfoundland, Thomas Farrell (Maud) of Rose Blanche, Newfoundland and sister Rosie Farrell (Mauger) of Halifax, Nova Scotia. Born in Burgeo, Newfoundland and raised in the outport village of North Bay, Lapoile, Annie moved to Cobourg as a teen, met and married the man of her dreams at the age of 20, and built a new life for herself here - but she never lost her love for her extensive east-coast family and was fiercely proud of her “Newfie” heritage.
An internment at Warkworth Cemetery and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers or donations, we invite you to honour Annie's kind and loving nature by performing a Random Act of Kindness in her memory.
