MITCHELL, Barbara Dora (nee Dracup)

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Barbara Mitchell (nee Dracup), peacefully and with her family by her side, at Peterborough Regional Health Centre on November 17, 2021 at the age of 94.  Barb was the beloved wife of the late William “Bill” Mitchell and the late Raymond Kelbrick.  Loving mother of Sherry Tripp (Keith) and Janice Lavalley (Jeff) and stepmother of John (Joanne), Arn (Jen Young) and Carolyn Maraghi (Elias).  Proud grandmother of Ryan (Roxanne), Daniel (Rhonda), Joseph and Jadyn and step-grandmother to Lindsay (Brad), Alexander, Veronica and Michael.  Treasured great-grandmother of MacKinley, Colton, Sawyer, Hudson and Greyson and step-great-grandmother of Isabella, William, Christopher and Scarlett.  Survived by her sister-in-law Evelyn Dracup.  Predeceased by siblings Gordon (Eva), Glenn and Gladys (Don) Easter and her parents Frank and Laura Dracup (nee Hawley).  Special thanks to Dr. Garcia and the B6 nurses, Dr. Brisbin, Dr. Blake and the Palliative Care nurses and the Applewood Retirement Residence team for their kind and compassionate care. Visitation to be held Sunday November 28th from 2 – 4 pm at the MILL VALLEY FUNERAL & CREMATION CENTRE, 35 King Street West, Millbrook. Masks and social distancing will be required.  Service will be held Monday November 29th at 11 am at St. John’s Anglican Church, 99 Brock Street, Peterborough. Those wishing to attend must RSVP by visiting Barb’s obituary page at www.millvalleyfuneral.com. Those without a reservation will not be admitted. A private family interment will follow at St. Johns’ Anglican Church Cemetery in Ida.  In memory of Barb, and in honour of her love of animals, donations to Peterborough Humane Society would be appreciated.
