Bob Hughes

HUGHES; Bob ~ Passed away on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at the age of 68.  Beloved father of Mary-Anne (Gavin Higgins) and Sarah Hughes (Chris Medwid).  Proud grandpa of Rachel Higgins, Maeve Higgins and Olivia Medwid.  Sadly missed by Jan Hughes and his brothers Rick and Steve Hughes (Mona).  Uncle of Richard Hughes, Chris Hughes, Kenny Hughes, Robert McLachlan and the late Scott McLachlan.  Son of the late Fred and Iola Hughes.  Bob will also be remembered by Don Zimmer, Pat Carveth, Cheryl McLachlan and his extended family and many friends.  Bob was a proud IBM’er, member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 30, Port Hope, devoted volunteer for many years to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, Community Care Northumberland, Fare Share Food Bank and Big Brothers Big Sisters.  Bob was known for his tireless commitment to organizing Celebrations and Reunions of family and friends, the lives he touched are too numerous to list and he will be greatly missed.  In keeping with Bob’s wishes, cremation has taken place.  A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, details to come.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.  Arrangements entrusted to the Fallis & Shields Funeral Home, Millbrook (705) 932-5300  www.fallis-shields.com
