Dennis Shewchuk Jr Obituary

Dennis Peter John Shewchuk Jr.

May 24, 1971 - October 29, 2022

It is with extreme sadness and heavy hearts that we bid farewell to Dennis Peter John Shewchuk Jr. Who passed away at home with his wife Jackie Robertson (Shewchuk). Dennis was known all over Canada. From the hallowed halls of R.S. McLaughlin CVI to the assembly line in Scarborough and Oshawa's GM plant.

Dennis was as active outdoorsman. He loved to fish and hunt with his late father Dennis Sr, and all of the Cavan Crew and buds who would stop by for beers and a social visit in his workshop. He was and will be remembered by his actions in the military reserves, as a chief scout-awarded by Lincoln Alexander, and as a Ukrainian Dancer.

Dennis was known for his strong will and Kodiak boots. He was always willing to offer a helping hand to anyone who needed it.

The tough Dennis also had a soft spot in his heart for his family! His wife Jackie Robertson (nee Shewchuk) is a saint for putting up with his jokes, his loud voice and the love he shared and showed to and with her.

Dennis is survived by his wife Jackie Robertson of Cavan Ontario. His mother Carol Anne Shewchuk of Oshawa, who he would speak and call daily to discuss the trials of society and how people are dumb and stupid jerks, but he always ended their conversations with I love you mom!

Dennis was a protective brother to Terry Matthew Shewchuk, and his children Elizabeth and Matthew. He would text them regularly to say, "hey, how's it going? How's school? And reminded them to stay safe, and continue to thrive. Dennis leaves behind many family and friends who loved him with all of their hearts.

Jackie (wife), Carol (mom), Terry (brother), Elizabeth, Matthew, Linda and Kavin (brother and sister-in law), Mike and Diane Ovenden (brother and sister-in-law), Sharon (sister-in-law), Dan (brother-in-law), Kim Degeer (step daughter), and Casey Walker (daughter), he is survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins from Ontario to British Columbia.

Dennis was a legal hunter and outdoors man. It was Dennis' wishes to be outdoors where he loved to be free.

Anyone wishing to donate in memory of Dennis Shewchuk Jr. Are asked to donate to the Peterborough Humane Society 385 Landsdowne St. E. Peterborough (705) 745-4722, or to Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunting -(705) 748-6324.

Rest in Peace: husband, son and brother. Please watch over us all. We love you and miss you!
