Evelyn Lepper Obituary

Dear Family and Friends…

I want to thank all of you for your kind words and understanding.  My decision to have medical assistance in dying was an easier decision than you might think.  It is time.  I know it has been a hard decision for some of you to come to terms with.  But please know that I am at peace with my choice.

Throughout my life, I have been surrounded by family and friends who I have loved and enjoyed.  The good times were plenty!  The knowledge that I received from all of the quilters; the food and recipes that have been shared; the joys and sorrows of life shared.  I learned a lot from all of you.  Hopefully, I have passed on some of the knowledge and know-how I have learned along the way, too.  And I’m sure that all the food recipes I passed along will bring back reminders of our good times together!

I was so grateful and surprised for the help that I received after Bruce passed.  And once again when I sold the house.

I want to thank Sue and Randy for their support and understanding.  I am so grateful.

Goodbye… for now.   Lyn.

Evelyn “Lyn” Lepper (nee Barton) was born August 7, 1935 in Weston, Ontario, where she was raised.  Mother Alice Elizabeth Barton (nee Williamson), and Dad “George” Granville Wilson Barton were immigrants from England.  Sisters Doreen Richardson and Gladys Little.

Wife of Robert “Bruce” Lepper for 65 happy years who passed in 2022.  Daughter Susan Elizabeth Smith (Randy), and son Robert Barton Lepper.  Grand Daughters Amy Smith Storey (Wade) and Jessica Lepper and Step Grandson Tyler Gallant.  Great Grandson Rhett Storey.

Lyn was an avid sewer and then quilter.  She was a founding member of The York Heritage Quilters’ Guild in Toronto in the 1970’s, and President for one year.  She was a teacher of quilting for many years.

Member of The Transplants Quilters’ Group in Millbrook, ON, now known as The Barn Owls.  These wonderful quilters and friends have met for years to commiserate and quilt.

Lyn volunteered for Community Care for many years.  She worked in the store, and drove people to appointments.  Was also a member of The Millbrook Community Choir from its inception.

Lyn enjoyed baking, cooking, and creating fabulous meals.  Friends and family were treated to her talents, and she was known for her great dinner parties.

She will be terribly missed by her family and friends.
