It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jessie Marina Gillis (Lunn), at Peterborough Regional Health Centre on November 24, 2021 at the age of 86.  Dear wife of Robert ‘Bob’ Gillis for 66 wonderful years; adoring mother of daughters: Patricia Gillis (Elmer Wiens), Karen Walker (Gary Malkowski) and Marie Crawford (Robert).  Beloved grandma to Chris, Lukas, Jesse (TJ), Amelia and Bridget.

Jessie is also survived by her brother Joseph (Late Betty) of Millbrook and predeceased by siblings Ken Little (Late Elsie), Betty Owen (Late Walter) and Ralph Lunn (Millie).

Born in Millbrook, Jessie remained in the village where she worked, raised her family with Bob and was an active member in the community. She was a long serving employee at Irvine and Irvine Barristers and Solicitors, member of the Millbrook St. Andrews United Church where she loved the choir and other volunteer activities.

Throughout the years, Jessie and Bob enjoyed the local bowling league and could often be found at the arena with figure skating or hockey events. A Service to celebrate Jessie’s life will be held on Tuesday December 7th, 2021 at 11 AM at the Cavan-Monaghan Community Centre, 986 County Rd. 10 Millbrook. A Reception will follow from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM. Due to capacity limits, an RSVP MUST be made by visiting Jessie’s obituary page at www.millvalleyfuneral.com. In addition, proof of vaccination and photo ID will be required along with the wearing of a mask. Those who do not RSVP cannot be admitted.
