John Kenneth McCallum Marsh
March 9, 1926 – March 11, 2025
John wished to be remembered as a proud husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, beekeeper and family physician. We will remember him for so much more.
A kind and gentle soul, John left a lasting impression on all who crossed his path. After graduating from the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Medicine in 1949, John practiced family medicine in Scarborough for 30 years before retiring to “The Farm,” where he devoted himself to beekeeping. John’s hives dotted the Northumberland landscape as he carefully sought out the best nectar for his renowned honey.
John and Marilyn (nee Tennant) were known for their abundant vegetable garden. One never left the farm without sage advice and a basket of tomatoes in hand.
When not tending to his blueberries or feeding his birds, John could be found in his chair by the window immersed in a crossword or a science fiction novel.
We will miss his wisdom, his mischievous sense of humour, his twinkling baby blue eyes and his incredible bear sized, heart felt hugs. We have been blessed to have had such an extraordinary man in our lives.
In John’s memory, donations to the Northumberland Fare Share Food Bank would be appreciated by the family (https://www.canadahelps.org/en/dn/69848)
