Kathleen Helen Petrie

PETRIE, Kathleen Helen - The family of Kathleen Petrie sadly announces her death on December 3, 2018 at the age of 87.  Kathleen was born in Scotland just a few weeks (and miles) away from her future husband David. In 1960 she followed David to Canada, where they married and began a family in Etobicoke. Several years later, they settled in Blackstock where they owned and operated Analda Nurseries for 34 years.  Kathleen returned to school while her boys were young and completed her degree in Horticulture. She was active in her community including Ontario Horticultural Association (past president), Spinners and Weavers, Master Gardeners and the Blackstock Fair Board. She had many creative hobbies including knitting, spinning, weaving, painting, cake decorating and flower arranging.  Kathleen will be missed by her husband David, sons Andrew (Jodi), Alan (Anne-Marie) and David (Tonia) as well as her grandchildren Christopher, Kathleen, Ryan, Makalea and Hayden.  The family is thankful for the gentle and loving care and service from the staff of Centennial Place in Millbrook.

Service Information

A ‘Celebration of Life' service will be held at Pontypool United Church on Friday, December 7 at 1:00 p.m. followed by a reception for family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Ontario Horticultural Association or Pontypool United Church.
