Larry Williamson Obituary

Larry Allen Williamson, 78, of Millbrook, passed away on March 1st, 2025 after a lengthy illness.

Larry was born on April 5th, 1946 to Margaret Carthew and Stewart Williamson in Toronto.

In 1965, Larry met Caroline in Whitby at a dance. They were married on December 7th, 1968 for 56 “absolutely marvelous” years where they danced through life together. Larry and Caroline went on to have 3 children, Marnie, Neil and Amy.

In 2020, Larry retired and spent his time annoying his wife and family by choosing a new thing to obsess about on a daily basis.

He enjoyed playing, coaching and participating in sports like hockey, baseball, cycling and shooting his BB gun at targets. The house was always loud and filled with music, laughter and people. He was larger than life and known as “The Big Guy” or "Stewy" and was not one you would forget. You could feel and hear his presence from miles away. He was the loudest and most supportive grandad to his five grand children at the various interests including dance, Hockey and lacrosse. He always had the best seat in the house too, a stool he brought himself. He enjoyed a nice large cup of chocolate milk with every meal a staple in the house. You could find Larry anywhere not only by hearing him but by also his vibrant and loud clothing.

He is survived by his wife, Caroline, his three children Marnie, Neil (Vicki) and Amy (Mike) and his five grandchildren Sydney, Charleigh, Vann, Katy and Ryan. Larry was predeceased  by his sister Donelda and his brother Barry.

An Irish wake will be held at the Millbrook Legion on his birthday, April 5th, 2025 between 2:00 and 4:00 p.m. All welcome! We politely ask for this to be a scent free environment.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations if you so desire be made to The Alzheimer’s Society.
