MORTON, Melbourne Ray ~ Passed away at the Bowmanville/Lakeridge Hospital on January 30, 2019 in his 93rd year. Proud farmer ‘on the land’ in Cavan Township for 88 years and certified organic for the last 30 years. Predeceased by wife, Helen (Armstrong) (1994), wife, Jessie (2016) and sister Audrey Fallis (2006) (Ira, 1999). Loving Father to Robert Morton (Sharon) , Peggy Immel (Darrel), Marion Norman (Christopher), Barbara Edwards (Brian), Arlene Franks (Peter Osborne) and Ruth Cesta (Angelo). He will also be missed by his stepchildren, Brian Armstrong (Joanne), Diane Armstrong, and Scott Armstrong as well as his grandchildren Jason Norman (Erin), Adam Norman (Natalie Caron), Elyse Franks (Dan Condon), Heidi Sanders (Mark), Matthew Cesta, Julia Cesta; his step-grandchildren, Grant and Amanda Armstrong; his great-grandchildren Tristan and Gabriel Norman, Grayson, McKinley, and Harper Sanders, and many nieces, nephews, and life-long friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on March 9, 2019 at St. John's Anglican Church Hall, Ida, from 1:30 - 3:30 p.m. including a luncheon. A private family internment will take place in the spring. The family wishes to thank Dr. Chou and Dr. Rashtogi as well as the many nurses of E1 at Bowmanville Hospital for their wonderful care and support. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Canadian Organic Growers or Canadian Taxpayers Federation or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. Donations and funeral services will be handled by Fallis and Shields, Millbrook, ON.
