ILIEVSKA, Neda (nee Velevackovska)

It is with great sadness that we mourn the passing of our beloved Neda Ilievska (nee Velevackovska), 66 of Millbrook, Ontario, who passed away at PRHC surrounded by her family. Neda, born September 15, 1958, in her cherished village of Besiste, Macedonia. She began her midwife training at the age of 15 in the nearby city of Prilep. It was then that she met her adoring husband Sotir “Steve” on the bus when returning home for a school break. After several years of correspondence, they married in Besiste before moving to Regina, Saskatchewan, where she completed her nursing degree at Wascana Institute with two young children. After having their third child, they relocated to Millbrook, Ontario in 1986, where she began her many years of devoted service at Peterborough Civic Hospital, where she served on countless committees. She also worked at St. Joseph’s Hospital, as well as at the CCAC as a placement coordinator before retiring in 2013 in order to care for her mother full time. Neda was an adored wife and mother. She loved gardening and had a prolific green thumb. She was gifted at all needlework and was a master knitter. She had a keen memory for all details and was an encyclopedia of knowledge for Macedonian customs and traditions. She enjoyed watching the different flowers bloom each day from the spring to the fall, and loved being outside in the sunshine. She was kind, compassionate and wise. She will be dearly missed by her husband Steve of 46 years, her sons Riste “Chris” and Jovan, her daughter Bilyana, her brother Riste (Snezana), her nieces Violeta and Nade, her nephew Boshe and grand nieces and nephews who she loved to dote on. She is predeceased by her father Bozidar and her mother Chona. Your love brought magic into our lives, and without you all the magic is gone. We will look for you everywhere in this life and pray to be reunited with you in the next. Family and Friends are invited to the MILL VALLEY FUNERAL & CREMATION CENTRE, 35 King St. W, Millbrook on Sunday January 26th, 2025 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. and on Monday January 27th, 2025 from 6:00P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Funeral Prayers to be held in the Mill Valley Chapel on Tuesday January 28th, 2025 at 1:00 P.M. Interment Rosemount Memorial Gardens. Reception to follow at the family home.
