RAMSAY, Peter Ross Allan
Peacefully at home with his daughters on Monday March 3rd, 2025 at the age of 87. Predeceased by his beloved wife Anne (nee Gorrie). Loving father of Cris Ramsay and Jen Ramsay (Bryan Haaker). Proud grandfather of Forest and Silas. Predeceased by his brother Bill Ramsay (Barb). Peter will be lovingly remembered by his nieces Heather Niven (Greg), Elaine Ramsay (Tom), and his great niece and nephews.
Peter was born and raised in Toronto. In 1961, he married Anne and together they built a life rooted in creativity, community, and love. He started his career in graphic design and advertising in Toronto before moving his family to Peterborough in 1975, where he established his own downtown business Repro Graphics. The small venture grew into Ramsay & Associates, a respected name in the industry.
In 2001, Peter and Anne moved to Millbrook, where they purchased and lovingly restored an historic home, transforming the property with beautiful perennial gardens. They quickly became involved in the village, forging lasting friendships and contributing to the community they adored.
Peter was passionate about preserving Millbrook’s history and was recognized many times for his efforts. In 2011, he was pleased to receive the Peterborough County Heritage Preservation Award - though to his daughters, it was simply the “Award of Awesomeness.”
A designer at heart, Peter never lost his love for art and architecture. Inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright, he created stunning stained glass pieces that now adorn many homes and businesses.
His legacy lives on in the beauty he created, the knowledge he shared, and the family he cherished.
In accordance with Peter’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. Memorial donations can be made to the Millbrook and Cavan Historical Society. Online condolences can be expressed at www.millvalleyfuneral.com
