Stephen Paul Harris "Harry"
1950-2025
Resided in Cobourg, Ontario
Born in Wales, UK
Paul passed away at the Golden Plough Lodge in Cobourg in the presence of loved ones including family members, friends and the amazing staff at the golden plough who took very good care of him as he battled dementia for a number of years.
Paul and his family immigrated to Canada in the early 1960’s from Wales with his mother (Constance Brunt), father (Ronald Harris) and sister (Christine Harris), the family decided to call Cobourg home. He attended the East high school and Western university where he graduated as an Engineer. He did many different jobs throughout his life, he wasn’t however defined much by his working life, but his life outside of work which consisted of lots of love for family and friends and many unique experiences. He went to Woodstock in ’69, hosted big concerts at a friend’s farm, lived on hippy communes out west, saw all the big bands, went to sports events, and had a hell of a time, he always had interesting stories from his life, one wouldn’t know where to begin. He had his first child, Shawn (mother Denise), in 1986, had his second, Eric (mother Maria), in 1994. Once his first child was born, he dedicated a lot of his life to his kids. They could always be found at the local pond playing hockey, tennis courts, baseball diamonds or soccer fields. He and everyone who knew and loved him are left with many fond memories of Paul in their lives and we all have our unique memories which we must always cherish. Paul always spoke highly of his friends and family in life and that is what he valued most. We can imagine that he is up there in the clouds somewhere watching over us and playing tennis of course. Those we loved don’t truly ever leave us, they will walk beside us for eternity and forever give us strength.
There will be a celebration of life for Paul to be held at the Cobourg Legion 136 Orr St from 1PM to 4PM on Saturday November 1, 2025, for any family and friends who wish to attend.
