Lilian “Rosemary” Sweeney (née Garvey)

December 17, 1939 – May 20, 2017

Surrounded by her family, Rosemary passed peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Saviour on Saturday, May 20, 2017 in her 78^th year. Beloved wife of Peter (predeceased 2011) for 46 years. Much loved mother of Joanne Sweeney, Julie Elliott (Andy), Maria Brovedani and Stephen Sweeney. Proud grandma ‘G-MA’ to Kristy (Evan), Jacob (Logan), Nicholas, Sam, Amanda, Jesse, Ryan, Alyssa, and ‘G-MA the Great’ to Miss Harley Mae and arriving soon Baby Roberts. Predeceased by her parents Fergus and Hazel Garvey and lovingly raised by Bert and Gert Morrisey from infancy. Dear sister of Mike (Elaine) Garvey, Joanne (Glenn) Scarrow and the late Sheila (survived by Murray) Genoe. Loved sister-in-law to the Sweeney Family and aunt to many special nieces and nephews. A special thank you to the Palliative Care team, especially Dr. Natalie Whiting, Cathy and Amy who through their compassion and exemplary care made it possible for us to fulfill our mother’s wish of remaining at home. Mom’s unwavering faith, courage and strength will remain an inspiration to the many lives she touched. She will be greatly missed and forever loved.
