Edmunds; Violet (nee Randles) ~ 94, of Port Hope, Ontario passed away October 12, 2017. Violet (‘Vye’) was born in Shotton, Flintshire Wales, United Kingdom, February 9, 1923 Father Charles Randles, Mother Mary Elizabeth Randles (nee Jones). Violet is predeceased by her husband John (Jack) Edmunds, brothers Bill, Jack, Charles and sisters Sally and May. She is survived by her daughter Lee and her son Ross (Carole), grandsons Antonio and Andrew, nieces Ingrid, Gail, Carolyn, Allison, Paulina and nephew Ron. ‘Auntie Vye’ also leaves behind many grand nieces and nephews including Lyn, Lori, Lisa, Becky, Kim, Nicola, Graham and Shaun. Violet had fond memories of her childhood growing up by the River Dee in Wales. As a young woman she moved to London to train as a nurse at the cancer hospital during WW2. Towards the end of the war she met her husband to be, Jack who was in London with the RCAF. After the War, Violet left and travelled to Toronto to marry Jack in 1948. Vye and Jack lived in Toronto raising a family and later in retirement, they moved to Port Hope and Welcome Ontario. Violet loved to travel. She led her young family through European vacations which became treasured memories. For 10 years Vye and Jack enjoyed their apartment in Torremolinos, Spain, with family and friends and they also enjoyed trips to Portugal and Cuba. Violet loved her family dearly and took good care of them. Recently, Violet was a resident of Regency Manor where she was well cared for by friendly and capable staff.
