William "Bill" Handley Gravely
Died peacefully, surrounded by love and family at The Bridge Hospice on July 28th at age 70 after a far too brief battle with cancer. Beloved "Daddest" to Tim, Mark and Alanna with former wife and good friend Catherine. Dearly loved life partner of Sabine Fischer. Proud "Poppa" to Nathan, Caden, Aston and Sienna. Sadly missed by Christine, Torben, Christopher and Gen, and grandbabies Eden and Wolfgang. Older brother to Neil and uncle to Shannon, he is also survived by his father William and sister Heather and predeceased by his mother Eleanor.
An accomplished lawyer, reader, athlete, car and single malt enthusiast; his work and leisure spanned five continents, but he was always most at home with family. Bill’s sense of justice and compassion always showed in his support for family and friends when they needed him the most. We are all inspired by how he faced his battle with dignity, class and peace. His strong will and engaging humour allowed him to be present and laugh until his final day. He will be remembered and deeply missed by his loved ones and friends.
A service will take place on Friday, August 10th at 1pm at Fallis & Shields Funeral Home, 35 King St. W., Millbrook. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Bridge Hospice would be appreciated. To donate online please click here. Online condolences may be made at www.fallis-shields.com
